Kymberley Kennedy - Cycles

Combining elements of pop, soul and R&B into her music along with her emotive vocals, stunning songwriting prowess and superb melodies, up-and-coming Yorkshire-based singer/songwriter Kymberley Kennedy joins a new wave of artists paving the way for R&B's future. Recently, she released her exceptional 12-track mixtape Cycles. Written over a period of 6 months in her own home studio, Cycles has been described as a sultry body of work covering themes of love, sex, regret and sorrow with all the melancholy passion of similar vocal powerhouse artists such as Portishead and Sade.

Discussing the release of Cycles with FAME Magazine, Kymberley Kennedy explains:

With Cycles I’ve mainly written about love, sex, regret and sorrow – all stages a person can go through in relationships and I think a lot of people can identify with that. I wanted to have fun with this record though and let myself go which is how songs like "Enabler" and "Make Me Wanna" came about. ‘Cycles’ starts almost like a relationship – with uncertainty, doubt ‘I Decide’ and moves into more playful realms before reaching the more amorous stage with songs like "I Need Your Lovin’". It ends with the same lingering feelings that you get when you come out of a relationship with the song "Why".
