NZCA/LINES - Airlock + Not Strong Enough
NZCA/LINES is back with two new slices of futuristic pop which, evolved from the same Vangelismeets-Nelly gene pool of his debut, combine pop melodies with R&B beats, lush arrangements with multi layered harmonies; a suave, synth-pop sensation.
"Airlock", a breakup song set in deep space, proves that even millions of kilometers from Earth our only concern is love, and love lost. Again the relationship with producer Charlie Alex March provides a balance between delicate introspection and knowing bravado, adding infectious rolling percussions over Lovett’s smooth vocals - the track is set to keep Autumn floating effortlessly forward.
The b-side, "Not Strong Enough", is the final realisation of a demo first heard on Japan's Big Love records last year. A confessional ballad played out behind the longest vocoder solo ever heard on a NZCA/LINES track, Not Strong Enough's Tellier-esque cascading synth lines indicate a growing Gallic sensibility. The two tracks will be released under NZCA/LINES own imprint K23 in UK/Europe. Alter-K in France
and Straight to the Sun in the US.
These tracks offer an epilogue to Lovett’s first record as he works on his sophomore album, due in 2013.
