Maccie - High

Introducing Toronto-based alt-pop artist Maccie Paquettem, otherwise known as simply just Maccie, who describes herself as a woman who knows what she wants and has just unveiled her fierce and empowering new single entitled "High", which also serves as the first single to be lifted from her forthcoming debut EP, Primal, due out later this year.

Working closely with Toronto producer Jeff Hazin, Maccie has created a sound that stands out. Inspired by relationships gone wrong, Primal touches the soul and brings you up whereas "High" encapsulates female strength and independence. It breaks the trope of the damsel in distress, promoting a woman who doesn't need anyone but herself.

Speaking on the track, Maccie says:

"'High' is about being resilient. It is about seeing the truth behind the lies in order to survive. Above all 'High' is about acknowledging a negative situation or toxic relationship and deciding to emerge from it independent, happy, and ever more confident in yourself. 'High' is about self appreciation­­."
