After having released his previous single, "Bubblegum", a collaboration with Aalias earlier this summer, New York City-based (via Atlanta) singer/songwriter and producer TOTEM returns today with his latest blast of electronic soul in the form of "Shadows". Co-Written and produced by Teal Douville (Daya, Panic! At The Disco and Gwen Stefani), the track once again showcases TOTEM's soulful vocals as he takes aim at the shady aspects of the music industry as he sings "the past won't leave me alone in peace, but I can still sleep at night, you won't hear me give no apologies, cause everything that goes around is coming back around" over crystal clear production, resulting in yet another truly stellar offering.
Speaking on the track, TOTEM says:
"'Shadows' was the first idea I worked with Teal [Douville]. I think the meaning behind it really had to do with being in L.A., and thinking about how the music industry tends to be a very judge-y and fickle place. People hate you 'til they love you, but you're the only one that has to deal with the shit along the way."
