Earlier in the year the Yasiin Bey, the artist formerly known as Mos Def, announced he his Top 40 Underdog project which would feature the veteran wordsmith tackling chart-topping tracks by other artists and in the process adding his own personal touches to craft a fresh new take on the original song.
Honoring today's birthday of Christopher "The Notorious B.I.G." Wallace, Yasiin Bey continues his Top 40 Underdog series with latest track. Aptly titled "Bey," the artist formerly known as Mos Def goes fierce over the instrumental of Lil Tunechi's single "John (If I Die Tonight)" and salutes the legacies of Biggie Smallz and Malcolm X.
