Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter and professionally trained dancer Gavin Turek has just shared her latest release, I Love You Giorgio - an ode to Giorgio Moroder.
Gavin Turek takes on some of Giorgio Moroder's greatest instrumentals - "Utopia Me Giorgio", "Lost Angeles" and "'Chase' among others - adding her undeniable combination of heartfelt lyrics and soaring vocals to create a truly special release. "I Love You Giorgio is my my open love letter to one of the most brilliant producers/musicians of our time," Turek says of Moroder. "It's my way of paying homage to a musical genius and his brilliant original production."
The five-song release will have people reaching for their dancing shoes, as it whirls through disco-era electronica and big idea lyrics. "Chase" from the Midnight Express soundtrack takes you on a journey through time and space," she says. "My interpretation resulted in "Keeper", a song truly about surrendering my idea of time to a power higher than myself." Also on the (re)mixtape is "I Will Come Back," which combines her interpolation of Moroder's "In the Middle of the Knight" with the lyrics of Holy Ghost's "I Will Come Back."
