Ace Harper - Mouth Wide Open

In the wake of the controversy surrounding Harvey Weinstein and the #MeToo campaign, Oklahoma-raised, Los Angeles-based electro-punk siren Ace Harper has today unveiled her new single called "Mouth Wide Open", along with its accompanying music video, shot by ENDS director, Daniel Iglesias Jr. (The Neighborhood, X Ambassadors). Mixed by award-winning record producer Mike Crossey (The 1975, Twenty One Pilots and The Aces), "Mouth Wide Open" follows her previously released electronic pop anthem "Neon Heart" and volleys between a danceable swing, melodic grit, and a big chant while at the same time, Ace delivers a thought provoking lyrical message of feminism and women's empowerment.

Speaking on the track, Ace says:

"When you first think of the title 'Mouth Wide Open', it has a sexual connotation. When you listen to the lyrics, the vision comes through. It’s about opening your mouth in the moment, saying what you need and want as a woman. I realized just how many females are having the same conversation about feminism as I am when I attended the women's march this year."

As for the single's video, she goes on to explain:

"I was influenced by feminist collage artist, Linder Sterling and Andy Warhol for the art. I had the idea to do choreography on vintage guitar amps with my two dancers and really wanted them to have this Sioxsie Sioux look with their makeup and wigs. We even reference the famed ‘Rosie the Riveter’ World War II poster within the dance choreography as a message of feminism."
