Eloïse - Girls Like Me

London-based songstress Eloïse has today unveiled the music video for her new single, "Girls Like Me", directed by fellow London duo Cherryade. Recorded in LA back in February of this year, the song is a female powered, slightly melancholic pop synth banger much like her previous single "Drop Dead Gorgeous" that celebrates the messy, chaotic, confusing and ultimately wonderful world of being a girl in her twenties. The song is rich in production with driving beats, thick catchy chorus with a dark bass undertone and slick harmonies. It's a song that could have easily come from Charli XCX or even Florence & The Machine.

Speaking on the video, Eloïse says:

"Filming this video with Cherryade was the best, they had such a good vision of making three female characters with varying degrees of being a hot mess and we ended up going mental with it. Standing in a bath with a bodybuilder shrine drinking Lambrini is my new favourite pastime! We really wanted to get across that feeling of letting everything you have go and spiraling into some kind of Anna Nicole Smith style nightmare... Girls being allowed to have mental breakdowns is the new thing, watch this space."

Inspired by pulp illustrations, horror and a passion for films, Natural Born Killers and true crime story podcasts, this 20-year-old singer songwriter has been hard at work releasing her poetic and compelling dark electronic pop material. From the 2016 single "Studio 54" through to her debut EP Marie Antoinette in 2017 along with an array of singles ,including "Suckers" which have gained support from tastemakers The Line Of Best Fit, The 405 and featured in many Spotify playlists including New Music Friday and The Telegraph's ‘Best New Music’.

Eloïse is heavily Influenced by pop culture and the arts including music from David Bowie, Frank Ocean, horror films, TV like RuPaul's Drag Race and has a strong affinity for powerful woman playing by their own rules. Jayne Mansfield, Anna Nicole Smith and Marilyn Monroe are particular icons.

As well as studying at UCL, Eloïse is back in the studio working with Ian Dowling (Adele, Bombay Bicycle Club, Emmy the Great) and Luca Buccellati (Lana Del Rey) crafting her next EP, which is slated for release in early 2019.
