Melbourne-based vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and producer Dolly Denko, aka Doctrin has recently unveiled her impressive debut single, Take Me", which she wrote, produced and recorded herself with help from Anna Laverty (Meg Mac, Cut Copy, Nick Cave). In addition, Dolly has also unveiled the single's accompanying music video which she produced and co-directed with DOP Dillon Pearce. Shot in Melbourne, Victoria and based on a coven of Wiccan females, the dramatic and provocative clip sees Dolly facing a demon that manifests from one’s negative thoughts and emotions, but is ultimately overcome.
Speaking on the track and video, Dolly explains:
"The song 'Take Me' was born from a bit of an existential crisis and some negative thoughts that were keeping me down so I was in a dark place at the time. After binge watching The Craft and Charmed and with already a rough idea for what I wanted the music video to be; I thought that a throwback to magic and occult which I grew up with would represent the theme and story of the song."
