London-born, New York City-based singer/songwriter Micky Blue, who describes her sound as haunted pop and previously lent her vocals to EDM artists such as Tritonal and Baggi, has today unveiled her new single called "Firebird", which was co-written with Lyon Hart and Joren Van Der Voort and produced by Mickey Valen (who also recently produced Jojee's new single, "Claim"). "Firebird" serves as the fourth single following "Dark & Stormy", "Champagne Reign" and "Wild Things" to be lifted from her forthcoming five-song debut EP, Wild Things, due for release sometime later this year.
Speaking on the track, Micky says:
"I was inspired by a close friend who is gay and struggled coming out to friends and family. She gave me a beautiful book called 'The Firebird and other Russian Tales' and it was one of my favorite books growing up. So the song was inspired by the book and her beautiful and emotional journey."
