Emerging London-based singer/songwriter Sipprell’s highly-anticipated debut EP, Letter D has finally arrived, featuring her well-received first two singles, "Curious" and "Essence" along with two new tracks, "The Wild" and "King Confined".
Entirely self-written, the EP is undeniably personal; all of her serious romantic relationships have been with people whose names have started with the letter D. The Londoner has collaborated with Ragz Originale (Skepta) & The Citrus Clouds on production – a mark of her innate talent to be on their radar already – Letter D is an uncompromisingly true expression of her experiences with love. "There's a lot of underlying emotion behind these songs and I hope people can relate to them in some way," Sipprell says.
Already building support across BBC R1Xtra, Complex, The 405 and The Fader, Sipprell's sultry, poignant vocals and signature lunar touch have marked her out against a background of UK singer/songwriters. Bringing together a hazy, futuristic production with vocals that she recorded in her bedroom - it's a refreshing technique and stance that has already put her on a number of tastemaker ones to watch lists and for good reason. Citing Ella Fitzgerald, Kim Burrell and Teedra Moses as some of her musical inspirations, Sipprell's classic appeal and futuristic production is making waves that only look set to continue into 2016.
