Born in Berlin and brought up in Warsaw, New York and Boston, the now 24-year-old London-based singer/songwriter Sonia Stein has just unveiled the music video for her new single, "Baggage", directed by Aaron Bevan-Bailey.
The intimate visuals perfectly reflect the track's personal lyrics, which Sonia describes as being "about meeting someone with emotional baggage from past relationships that makes it difficult to start something new. It goes back and forth between being quite vulnerable and understanding to being quite assertive and resolute; about not wanting to deal with someone’s past in that way no matter how much I like them."
"Baggage" was co-written with and produced by multi-instrumentalist Ben Jones, whose work with Kelly Rowland and Tinie Tempah has seen him become one of the UK’s most in-demand session guitarists: a reputation which most recently saw him feature on Mary J Blige's latest record, The London Sessions.
Sonia continues to collaborate with Ben, as well as with renowned producer Liam Howe (FKA Twigs, Marina and the Diamonds, Jessie Ware) on her debut album, which is slated to drop in early 2016.
