At the start of 2015, Perth-based duo GRRL PAL, comprised of vocalist Jay LeKat and producer Danny K challenged themselves to release one brand new song every month for the duration of 2015. Today they have just completed their 12 tracks in 12 month challenge by revealing their twelfth and final song of the year called "Submarine".
While GRRL PAL are still relatively new on the scene, they have definitely made themselves known. The pair have been booked to perform at BIGSOUND Brisbane and Listen Out Perth this year and have previously played at HyperFest, opened Perth's CoLAB Festival as well as recently made their eastern state debut in Melbourne and Sydney. The pairs ambition has undoubtedly paid off, with "Paradise" reaching the #2 spot on Hype Machine following impressive heavyweights Kanye West, Rihanna and Paul McCartney as well as six of their tracks making it onto the Triple J airwaves.
The band's copious newcomer achievements instill massive expectations regarding the releases that are still to come. Despite major hype and success surrounding "Paradise" and "Dare", GRRL PAL are ready to take the next step as artists and aim to deliver big things with their forthcoming sophomore EP, Suggest, which is due for release in early 2016.
