Jade Alice - Kick Drum

Winner of Melbourne Music Bank 2015 competition, Australian singer/songwriter Jade Alice has just announced the release of her debut single, "Kick Drum". The single is accompanied by a beautiful performance-based video clip, which was produced and directed by filmmakers Oh Yeah Wow and features a number of lush sets and narrative animations.

Offering insight into the quirky, fun and incredibly catchy song, Jade Alice explains:
"The melody for the song ‘Kick Drum’ actually came to me in a dream! The song is about a feeling of uncontrollable happiness; a feeling I hope resonates with others when they listen to it. The greatest reward for me as a musician is evoking the same emotion in people that I feel when I’m writing the song."
Counting artists such as Kimbra, Joni Mitchell and Broods among her biggest influences, Jade grew up in a musical family, performing and writing throughout her childhood. She received first prize in the ACMF song writing competition in 2012, and performed an original song with orchestra at Hisense Arena for the Victorian State Schools Spectacular 2014. She studied Music Performance and Music VET year 12, before moving on to Interactive Composition at the Victorian College of the Arts.
