After having released her Things We Say EP back in early March, which included standout cuts such as "Coming Back For More" and "That Night", 27-year-old Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Caitlin Linney, aka Linney returns today with the release of brand her new 4-track EP titled Things We Do, which includes three pop masterpieces plus one remix.
Kicking off the EP with "Famous", the song is about finding authenticity in a fame-crazed city and the idea of giving one person so much of your attention that you could make them feel famous without all the artificiality. Next up is "Drummer", which is about breaking the rules and staying inherently true to yourself no matter what your friends say. Then there's "I'd Rather Burn", which is about seizing the day and living life to it's fullest and was inspired by both a Jack Kerouac quote and the Man in the Arena speech given by Teddy Roosevelt. And last but not least is a remix of "That Night" courtesy of BRÅVO, who, with over 625 remixes submitted, won the Indaba contest that Linney held earlier this year.
Speaking on the release, Linney says:
"'Things We Do' is about stepping up and making bold statements. All about confidence and claiming your own opinions and decisions. As in, this is how I feel. This is what I'm doing. This is where I’m going. And if you're not coming with me, don't stand in my way. For me, this release is about coming into one’s own."
