Lyrah - Don't Make Me

Introducing indie pop artist known mononymously as Lyrah, who has just released her debut single entitled "Don't Make Me," which also serves as the first taste of her forthcoming Chemicals EP, due out early next year.

Lyrah may be a new name but she's been honing her skills as an musician for years. The genre-mixing prevalent throughout the four songs on her upcoming Chemicals EP started from a young age — singing at church in the morning and playing skate shows with her metal band at night. More recently, the culmination of touring London as a keyboardist for Paul Thomas Saunders and writing for other producers also helped lead to her debut EP. Though under the electronic pop umbrella, Chemicals is a collection of songs which goes beyond any specific sound, with the hope of encapsulating life's everyday moments.

"The past often plays back better in our minds than it did in real-time; and a song can trigger those memories that made you feel the most alive," says Lyrah. "I wanted these songs to have that same cinematic feel, like they could soundtrack your life."
