Haløver - Let Me Out

Originally hailing from Siberia, Russia but now based in Los Angeles, emerging dark pop artist Anna Mezentseva, aka Haløver has today released her new single called "Let Me Out", her third offering of the year following "Insane" and "They Ain't Got It Right". The genre-bending track is sure to tickle your senses as the song begins with an eerie and spine-chilling piano introduction that sets a horror movie vibe throughout the song while the lyrics tells us a story from the stalker's perspective where she feels misunderstood for her actions. The song takes an unexpected turn in the chorus when the music suddenly stops and the Haløver whispers, "Why don't you want me?; Why don't you love me?; Why don't you notice me?" soon followed by a desperate scream of "Let me out!" from her hostage which will leave listeners wondering if the guy is going to make it out alive or not.

Speaking on the track, Haløver explains:

"I watched this show about a stalker and the story was so captivating and fresh that it inspired me and my producer Jiroe to write a song about it. It is about a girl that keeps stalking a guy that she is obsessed with. At first, she is just following him around and fantasizes about them being together but after some time she realizes that it’s not enough and she wants to 'own' this person. She traps him inside where he can't go anywhere or talk to anyone and just enjoying having him only for herself."
