Hailing from Queensland's Sunshine Coast, alternative pop artist Isabel Wood is back today with her new single called "Ghost 3am". Once again teaming up with producer extraordinaire Xavier Dunn (Jack River, GRAACE, CXLOE, etc.), the track follow's Isabel's previous single, "Sunburn" which has since accumulated over 42,000 streams since its release in late August as well as gained airplay on several commercial stations throughout Australia.
"Ghost 3am" is a heartbreaking open letter to a person from Isabel's past who lied, cheated and made her feel worthless. Speaking about the track, Isabel says, "'Ghost 3am' is by far the most vulnerable song I've ever written, which was scary at first, but it has also turned out to be my favourite. I think a lot of people will be able to relate to it."
A notable point of the song comes in the second verse, which introduces the expressive backing vocals of Xavier Dunn. When asked about this inclusion, Isabel adds, "Xavier's vocals were a great way to help tell the story from a male perspective. Toxic relationships affect both men and women alike and it was important to me that I reflected that in the song." Despite the pain and emotion explored throughout "Ghost 3am", the track ultimately delivers a positive message of strength and self-worth through its empowering chorus, which describes the moment that Isabel finds the courage to break away from the relationship.
