Biond - TFW

Melbourne-based pop artist Rose Muller, aka Biond returns today with her new single called "TFW" (which stands for "That Feeling When"), an electro-infused power pop anthem about sexual freedom. "TFW" unveils an emerging theme throughout Biond’s releases: the value of relationships in an era of instant gratification and infinite opportunity. We've all grappled with the grass seeming greener on the other side. "TFW" is an expression of the internal and ongoing battle between love and lust: one is new, dramatic and dangerous, whereas the other represents a deep and secure connection.

Produced by Hamish Patrick and mixed by Peter Holz, "TFW" cements Biond's signature glitter-pop style, with her distinctively powerful vocal highlighting themes of desire and empowerment. The pulsating push-pull of the drums and bass seduce you into a dark, dangerous rendezvous, until the song explodes into a 4-to-the-floor anthem in the final chorus.

Speaking on the track, Biond says:

"'TFW' is all about fantasy vs. reality. The fantasy attached to hook-ups is of some exciting, sexy encounter with someone new, but the reality is that the absence of real affection can make you feel lonelier that ever. It’s a dichotomy we all battle with: you can’t have both a deep, secure connection and the pure melodrama of a fleeting affair."

"TFW" follows Biond's previously released single, "Like He Never", which was released earlier this year and explored the pitfalls of modern hook-up culture. Triple J Unearthed gave it a radio premiere and added it to rotation, and Purple Sneakers called it "powerful, emotive pop at its best". The track also received plenty of Triple J attention, getting multiple spins on both Good Nights and Home & Hosed.
