Intrducting BLSHS (pronounced blushes), a Houston-based synth-pop trio comprised of Michelle Miears, Rick Carruth and Chris Gore. BLSHS combine a southern twist of 808-heavy beats, lush synthesizers, and hauntingly powerful and heartfelt vocals.
BLSHS have just released their 6-song debut EP entitled, Abstract Desires.
The first single from the EP, "Blushes", sets the tone with its roaming bass line, ambient synth accents, and drums your sub-woofer would be proud of. "Blushes’" soft and stirring vocals describe a state of emotional uncertainty that is both engaging and relatable.
Up-tempo tracks "Chased by Memories" and "Another Tuesday" offer intricate instrumentation, dance-worthy beats, and candidly poignant vocals. Relaxing the album’s pace to a slow groove, "Gave It Away" offers riding bass lines, smooth synths, and lyrics that tell a story of lost love and the familiar imprint of emptiness that is left behind. Abstract Desires’ most danceable tracks, "If I Fall" and "Runaway" end the EP on a high note.
Closing the EP in epic fashion, "Runaway" is sure to get your feet moving. This song is highlighted by its four-on-the-floor drums, gleaming synths, and powerfully emotive vocals. BLSHS’ music evokes emotion that will grab hold of your heart and drag it to the dance floor.
