Fractions - Breathe

Hailing from across the North East of England, Fractions are an exciting new female fronted five-piece synth pop band featuring current and ex members of UK hardcore band Lavotchkin as well as local producers Joey Murphy, Worry Party and RoadToCairo. Initially forming in 2012 as a studio project between friends with a love for electronic music, Fractions became a physical band in late 2013 and, as of May 2014, have began performing live.

On describing the mindset of Fractions, guitarist Martin Downing explains it as "a combination of all of our individual strengths rolled into one. We are all fractions of Fractions as we all contribute our own part to what you hear". A large majority of Fractions' work is created by its member’s sending work back and forth between each other in secluded home studios, building on each other’s brilliance to create a single entity that is truly great. This insular working environment reflects the multi-disciplined and novel sound of Fractions, above and immune to external pressures or influences.

Fractions' have recently released their debut track "Breathe" which is available now from Get Into It Records. In addition, Fractions have also announced the release of their forthcoming self-titled debut EP which will be released on Edils Records (Liverpool) on September 8th on both physical and digital formats.

Described as a momentous piece developed from sweat, blood and glorious determination, Fractions' debut EP marks the beginning of an exciting new future for the burgeoning outfit.
