Radclyffe Hall - OMG + Dare To Dream

Introducing Radclyffe Hall, a dark electro-pop band who hail from Allston, Massachusetts, located in the western part of Boston, and whose moniker is both a literary reference as well as an affectionate nod to Beantown academic culture. With tracks rooted in personal introspection and the anthemic power of pop to move hearts, minds, and bodies.

A fixture of the Boston music scene as a touring and session bassist, founding member, Dhy Berry yearned for a project of her own after years of working as a side woman. In 2010, she began to experiment with analog and soft synth production, eventually developing fragments into full-fledged pop songs using a highly rhythmic compositional approach.

Steeped in rock 'n' roll, funk, and R&B, Radclyffe Hall merges Berry's reverence for classic genres with radio-ready dance pop aesthetics. The band utilizes analog synths, vocals, and the studio itself as instruments and counts Meshell Ndegeocello, Santigold, and Metric as enduring influences.

While their lyrics deal with loss and disappointment, a fearless, empowering optimism nonetheless emerges. Songs like "Dare to Dream" epitomize the authentic ambivalence at the band's core: that real inspiration is born out of real adversity. Lyrically and musically, their debut release, simply titled Extended Play (due out this fall) is a bold debut by a band as individualistic as they are decidedly for the masses.
