Thumbing their noses at the drab and the serious while combining the happy-go-lucky, anything-goes attitude of The Orwells and Palma Violets with the tunes and storytelling of the classic 70s punk outfits The Buzzcocks and Undertones, Manchester-based five-piece The Minx, comprised of Chris Haddon (vox/guitar), Paul Robinson (guitar), Steven Stuttard (bass), Kieran McIntyre (keys) and Andy Evans (drums) have just unveiled their infectious new guitar-driven power pop tune entitled "No Friends", recorded by Tim Thomas at Blueprint Studios and mixed by multi-award-winning producer Cenzo Townshend (Florence + The Machine, Franz Ferdinand, Vaccines). In addition, The Minx have also recently unveiled the music video for the single's B-side, "Jesus And The Mary Chain". Stars of a forthcoming documentary on underground music scenes by The Streets' Mike Skinner as well as having appeared in a recent Dr Martens TV ad campaign, The Minxs' music, look and exuberance go pleasingly against the grain.
"No Friends" + "Jesus And The Mary Chain" is scheduled for release on September 1st on limited edition 7" vinyl and digital download via Queen Street Records.
