The Night VI - Heroine

London-based six-piece The Night VI have today announced their forthcoming sophomore EP titled DIY due out on November 17th via Duly Noted Records. The five-song EP will include their previously released singles, "Sienna" and "Wonderlust" as well as their sleek and sophisticated new single "Heroine", plus two early demos, "Gunshot" and "Fears" which will be featured online later this year.

The Night VI's own Sophie-Rose Harper says, "Heroine is a femme fatal. She knows what she wants and how to get it but she'll ruin you much like the drug. She's like your mum's worst nightmare but there's another side to her one that raises you up and keeps you wanting more."

Adding to the conversation, Jack Gourlay explains, "On the EP itself, if I said it was a concept record woven together by intricate thematic underpinnings I'd be lying. It's 5 songs that we liked. 3 are self-produced, 2 are not. 'Gunshot' was written three years ago and the version that features is the initial writing demo (we've still never played it live.) 'Sienna' and 'Wonderlust' were bigger scale productions whilst 'Fears' and 'Heroine' were created in the room next to where we rehearse. So the feeling that pulls the tracks together is perhaps more like that of a family age, looks and personality may be quite individual but the common heritage and genealogy should be fairly easy for any friend of the family to spot."

DIY will be released as as physical release only, with a limited run of 500 copies and available first only from the band's live shows.

Unfortunately, fans in the US will not be able get their hands on a copy of DIY, however they will be able to get a special edition copy of "Heroine", which will be released on 7" vinyl via Turntable Kitchen and will also include a special previously unreleased B-side.

Premiere via Clash Magazine.
