Following the release of their impressive debut EP In Halves, London-based 4-piece band YOU have recently unveiled their new track entitled "100 Lanterns", which was recorded with producer Dave Pemberton (Prodigy/Groove Armada) at Pyramid Studios in London.
The track also acts as a precursor to the bands second single "Anaesthetic" due for release in February 2015. With striking honesty and poignant lyrics, "100 Lanterns" is a personal lament to mark the passing of vocalist Anna Waldmann's mother last year.
Anna explains: "'100 Lanterns' is about how letting go of a struggle can be very beautiful. It was written about a memorial service that I made for my mum. It went really wrong at first and we set fire to some trees, dodged fireworks and got covered in her ashes! At the end though we had one last lantern that we set off and it went really high in the sky."
"100 Lanterns" will be officially released on 8th December via MUK Records. However, as a special treat to their fans and to thank them for their continued support, the band are currently offering the track as a free download (for a limited time) only via the band's website, Soundcloud and Music Glue pages.
