Anthropology student and 90's baby Stax Osset draws equal parts inspiration from childhood nostalgia and a fascination with the universal human experience (love, loss, happiness and despair)on her first official, self-produced debut single "Symmetry".
Sonically, the Melbourne native sits confidently among the new guard of fellow Australian electronic artist/producers flying the flag overseas but beneath the glacial melodies that fuse Britney-esque bubblegum at its best with something decidedly extra-terrestrial her lyrics reveal oblique references to cultural symbolism and transcendence of human life.
"Symmetry" represents Stax' first fully realised single following a trail of demos online and a guest appearance on Allday's debut album, Startup Cult via the interlude "Milligrams", which the Melbourne rapper recently fleshed out into a full song due to popular demand.
"Symmetry" is also accompanied by an delightfully eccentric official music video courtesy of director Josh Harris (Viceroy, Chela).
Premiere via ACCLAIM Magaine.
