Sydney-based duo VIGILANTES, comprised of vocalist Angela Ford and multi-instrumentalist/vocalist David Jenkins have today unveiled the music video for their new single, "Elasticity". Directed by Joseph Timbs and conceptualised by VIGILANTES, the music video was shot over 3 nights around Redfern, Surry Hills & the Sydney CBD.
"The whole process was extremely impulsive" says VIGILANTES guitarist Dave Jenkins Jr (Daniel Johns, Andy Bull, Eves The Behaviour). "We literally rode around the city and shot scenes as we saw them. Some of the riding scenes were shot out of the boot of my car, while the more involved scenes (like the food court sequence) had to be filmed before security figured out what we were doing and kicked us out."
With cameos from Australian favourites Andy Bull, Art vs Science and Pluto Jonze, the video is a visual homage to cult classics like The Warriors and The Breakfast Club and a nod to music videos VIGILANTES watched as kids, like Smashing Pumpkins' "1979" and Daft Punk's "Da Funk".
