After having just shared the music video for her single "Can't Go Back", Norwegian artist and 2x Grammy Award nominee Marie Munroe returns today with her new synth-Infused power pop ballad called "Give You Up", which also serves as the third single to be taken from her much-anticipated debut album Under My Skin due out January 22nd. Marie’s influences are discrete enough to hint at a variety of inspirations while not sounding like any specific act. Her multi-tracked and effortlessly assertive lead vocals never tip over into any overbearing drama, and all throughout they simply remain honest. By resembling Jenny Wilson’s straight-forward style of singing, whilst sonically hinting at Jessie Ware’s powerful way of writing, Marie manages to create a three and a half minute long reflective experience.
Speaking on the track, Marie explains:
"'Give You Up' is the tenacious and persevering doom. It’s the first song I wrote for this album, and the way it came to be was so natural that it almost felt as if it had a will of it’s own to become what it is. It’s the mother of my songs."
