After having released her critically acclaimed single "IOU" back in early February, which has since peaked at #1 on both Hype Machine's Popular and Twitter charts as well as amassing close to one million gloabal Spotify streams with another 331,000+ plays on Soundcloud,
27-year-old British singer/songwriter Annabel Jones (whose father is Davy Jones of The Monkees) is back today with her new single entitled "Happy", an electro-pop jam inspired by a long distance relationship. Both "Happy" and "IOU" will be featured on Annabel Jones' five-song EP, Libelle, due out tomorrow (May 6th) via Crooked Paintings / Atlantic Records.
Speaking on the track, Annabel says:
"I wrote 'Happy' when I was separated from my loved ones. I had been in Los Angeles for a long time. I was missing a boy basically. The song is as much about being separated from your loved ones and the things that make you feel comfortable."
