New York City-based singer/songwriter and producer (and former frontman for The Postelles) Daniel Balk, aka Stray Echo seems to be unstoppable as of late. After having just shared his previous track, "Pavement", exactly two weeks ago today, Stray Echo now returns with yet another new single entitled "Grime X Gold", which starts off with some mild lo-fi distortion before evolving into a funk-filled and 70's-influenced summer jam.
Speaking on the track, Daniel says:
"'Grime x Gold' is a track that bleeds summer. I think I recorded it at the beginning of spring, sort of needed an upbeat track to get me out of the dismal New York winter. I was definitely listening to some Chic and other 70’s tracks that had that feel to it for influence. My good friend Jonathan Schmidt (Big Data, Haerts) lent his amazing drum skills on the track as well which really made it special."
