Kadija Kamara - Alright

London-based alternative soul songstress Kadija Kamara has today unveiled her new single titled "Alright". Produced by Tony Hayden from Ibibio Sound Machine, "Alright" serves as the first taste of Kadija's long-awaited forthcoming debut album, and also marks her return to the scene following her well-received 2013 single "Loving From The Past" and its accompanying B-side "Groovin". Known for her compelling songwriting, captivating vocals and trademark fusion of retro soul and modern influences, Kadija's music has garnered support from the likes of BBC 1Xtra, MTV Iggy, SoulBounce, Notion Magazine, Clash Music, Soul Train and BBC Introducing, among others.

Speaking about the inspiration for "Alright", Kamara says:

"This record is about facing your fears and obstacles, and never giving up. It is also about staying true to your heart. Acknowledging your internal wealth and not the materialistic things. It's about holding your ground, no matter what people think or say about you. Sometimes the expectations of others can make you feel like you're underachieving, but remember that you’re not in competition with anyone else but yourself. Thoughts about quitting can sometimes run through your head, but there is always a light at the other side of the tunnel. I just hope others can relate to this record."
