Shy Luv (feat. JONES) - Shock Horror
Manchester-based dance duo Shy Luv, comprised of Sam Knowles (aka Karma Kid) and Jake Norman (aka Armeria), have today unveiled the music video for their new single, "Shock Horror", which features guest vocals from rising UK songstress JONES and also serves as the title track from their forthcoming debut EP, due for release on March 10th via Black Butter Records. Directed by London-based, French producer duo Bif, the exhilarating CGI-addled video sees the band skydiving amongst mini-clones and giant women, including JONES. According to the band, "this is a song that really represents what we are as a band: Guitars, synths, dancing, romance."
Director duo Bif adds: "The idea was to shoot the girls as if they were gigantic statues. We used the photogrammetry scanning system in order to recreate a perfect 3D model of each character. CGI allowed us to create impossible camera shots, animate the duo and populate each scene the way we wanted."
"Shock Horror" represents the next phase of the duo's evolution, traversing timeless disco, funk-punk and electronic sonic touchstones while carving out their own playful aesthetic and live, organic feel. The track was written, performed and produced by the duo themselves, with Karma Kid once again demonstrating that he is not only an accomplished studio musician but a talented front man as well.
