After having released her single "Holding Back" roughly two weeks ago, London-based singer/songwriter and producer Francesca Bergami, aka Lyves is back again with her latest offering called "Cover Me", which was produced by Lyves herself along with Will Night, who she previously collaborated with on "The Weather" and "Free" off her debut EP Like Water, released earlier this year. An evolution of her unique, spacious R&B sound, while "Holding Back" led with haunting pianos and luscious strings, "Cover Me" is a further exploration into her electronic core. Slowly building synth chords and stabs are enhanced with percussive elements echoing trip-hop, yet remaining beautiful and subtle.
Speaking on the track, Lyves says:
"I wrote 'Cover Me' around 3 years ago, but it ended up as a lost, unfinished demo until I came across it again by accident this year while writing in Devon. Hearing it after so long re-ignited how I first felt writing it and led me to finish the song. I feel the song speaks about the tug and pull in relationships - that internal conflict that can arise between wanting stability and security vs independence."
