Growing up in a small town in North Wales, soul-crossover artist Nia Wyn has today released her brand new single called "Stay In Your Lane". The release sees Nia plucking influences from different worlds, taking a vintage soul-R&B sound while giving it a fresh modern twist. Produced by Turkish Dcypha and George Hasbury, "Stay In Your Lane" is a more mature track compared to her more recent singles, as the song tackles the frustrations of the music industry as well as the experiences of being a female artist.
Speaking on the track, Nia says:
"This song was written out of frustration over dealing with dudes in the industry and in other areas of my life telling me what I should do and how I should do it. It's also about their fragility when you question them and tell them to stay in their lane."
The past eighteen months have been an interesting ride for Nia Wyn, it has seen her open for the likes of Paloma Faith and Paul Weller, announced as part of the 'First Fifty' for Great Escape Festival 2019, and being tipped by Huw Stephens as one of BBC Introducing's 'ones to watch' in 2019. Nia has also garnered wide support across BBC Introducing, 6Music and BBC Radio One. With this single being the next step in Nia Wyn's journey and a debut EP to come in the next few months, "Stay In Your Lane" is yet another example of why Nia Wyn is such an exciting talent.
