Following her sophomore EP, You, which was released back in April of this year, 22-year-old Scottish-born singer/songwriter Kerri Watt has just unveiled the music video for her gorgeous new single, "Long Way Home", which was written by Kerri herself along with Alex Davies and Milly Upton and produced by Embrace guitarist Richard McNamara. The video was filmed on location in Scotland and directed by Michael - Kaine from Nifty50 Films.
Speaking on the single, Kerri says:
"It's probably the most honest and vulnerable song I've ever written. I wrote it while I was wrapped up in a moment of confusion and emotion. I felt it was the right time to come out with something a bit more serious that really allows me to express my feelings in the vocals. I'm excited for people to hear another side of me."
The song's serious subject matter is echoed in the accompanying video. "We wanted to make a music video that featured a gay storyline" says the director duo, "but one that wasn’t fundamentally about homosexuality. It was important to us that we tell a story about real characters with real relationships. The song in itself feels so large, we tried to write something that could match and compliment that sense of scale and depth."

"Long Way Home" will be released on July 10th via 25 Hour Convenience Store - the record label from The Libertines drummer Gary Powell. Pre-order on iTunes.
