emaé - Know You

Following last year's release of her debut single, "Something Beautiful", which was championed by the likes of BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio, MTV UK and Soul Bounce, Scottish-born, London-based singer/songwriter emaé returns with her second single entitled "Know You", which is taken from her forthcoming debut album.

Praised for her superb vocal performances, songwriting dexterity and excellent folk, soul and pop sensibilities as highlighted on her recent releases, emaé continues to receive worthy comparisons to artists such as Corrine Bailey Rae and Emeli Sande. Her latest offering "Know You", however sets emaé apart as she forges her own lane in today's British music landscape, with her own brand of heartfelt and impassioned songs.

Written and composed by emaé, and co-produced with long time collaborators Hi-Sonorous, "Know You" is a feel-good tune that feels just right for the summer time, backed by infectious guitar arrangements, lush drum patterns and glorious vocal melodies. Lyrically, it takes a more sombre and reflective tone, as emaé opens up to the listener, about her fear of connecting with new people. Speaking on the track, emaé says:

"If I’m honest, that’s something that still scares me profoundly and it takes a lot to change my solitary tendencies but this song is my way of capturing the feelings that I experience when I finally get over that hurdle, and let new people in."
