18-year-old Warwickshire-based singer/songwriter Keyes returns today with her official debut single called "Black Magic". The follow-up to her lovelorn May debut, "
Veins" and "
Poor Man's Paradise", both of which received well-deserved praise from a host of music blogs thus each earning a spot high up on the
Hype Machine charts. Teaming up once again with producer
Sam Winfield (Fickle Friends, Amber Run), "Black Magic" takes Keyes' polished pop to dizzying new heights. Built around Jade Keywood's glossy R&B-leaning hook, the track is a paean to the irresistible draw of a no-good lover, punctuated by fizzing synth motifs, rubbery percussion and sleek bass oscillations.
