Monopol - Somebody That I'll Never Be

Intoducing Monopol, otherwise known as the new solo project of hit-making producer Christoph Andersson, whose impressive resume includes cuts like G-Eazy's "Me, Myself, & I" as well as many of the tracks found on Devon Baldwin's critically acclaimed debut EP, Lungs. Today, the 24-year-old producer moves past the hip-hop production sphere as he turns his gaze toward the world of upbeat, hook-laden indie pop by bringing to light his first solo single called "Somebody That I'll Never Be." Already drawing comparisons to likes of Phoenix, Passion Pit and The 1975, Monopol's heartfelt debut offering is definitely worthy of being considered as one of this year's best new summer jams and has us feeling excited to hear what else he has in store.

Speaking on the track, Andersson says:

"The track was written during a massive rainstorm in the middle of a jungle in Nicaragua. It's a song about the desperation of trying to salvage a dying relationship. Many many thanks to co-writers Daniel Nigro and Jeremiah Raisen!"
