SAÍGO - So Natural

Following its first play on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show, Los Angeles-based singer and producer SAÍGO has today unveiled his first official single called "So Natural", a song which he himself says is about the competition of natural instincts and calls to mind the moody, elaborately textured and subversive sounds of contemporary artists like Jai Paul, Nao, and James Blake. The single was co-produced by Jonah Christian and serves as the first track to be lifted from his forthcoming debut EP, due out in October.

Diving deeper into the song's meaning, SAÍGO explains:

"The song itself is about knee-jerk, involuntary reactions that you end up regretting. It’s about our self-defense mechanisms – their dark histories, their deep foundations, and then trying to overcome them. It started with just a bass line and a melody, and then became kind of a three-part mini-series that follows a sequence of regret, reconciliation, and deconstruction."
