All-star Brooklyn-based trio Violet Sands, comprised of Deidre Muro (of Deidre & the Dark), David Perlick-Molinari (of French Horn Rebellion), and Derek Muro (of Love Like Deloreans and Mighty Five) are back today with a soaring new electro-pop ballad titled "Modern Ruins", which also serves as the latest track following "Coming Back" to be lifted from their forthcoming debut EP, Strange Attractor, due out on May 6th via Ensemble Records.
Speaking on the track, lead singer Deidre Muro explains:
"['Modern Ruins'] was inspired by the initial Scully/Mulder partnership in The X Files - we imagined Mulder heading out to explore some perilous remains of a desert city in search of ‘answers.’ We wanted to create a sweeping, classic-feeling melody to score this idea, like something you might in a Tom Petty or Chrissy Hynde track."

Premiere via Popular TV.
