The Queen and King - Fractions

Nashville-based electro-pop duo The Queen and King, comprised of Houston natives Caroline Shumate and Greg Graves, have just shared their highly infectious new single called "Fractions", which also serves as the first track to be lifted from their forthcoming EP, Pep Talk, produced by Kyle Dreaden (Ugly Kids Club, Thrillers, Totem) and is slated for release on September 2nd.

Having written and performed together since the summer after their high school graduation, the pair, both multi-instrumentalists, toured as members of YouTube star Tyler Ward's backing band in the summer of 2014, playing gigs across the country and overseas. It was upon returning from that tour that the duo decided to start their own project.

Soon after forming, the pair started releasing original covers of popular Billboard hits, helping them to blossom into their growing creative roles while also establishing an early following. Since then, The Queen and King's covers have accumulated over 30 million+ streams on Spotify alone.

The Queen and King's own Caroline Shumate explains:

"On the surface, it seems like fun pop music, but when you dig in, it's got some meat. It's high-energy dance music with a lot of heart. When you’re out having fun and dancing with your friends, or when you’re feeling down and need reassurance that it’s going to be alright... We strive to create music that wants to be celebrated in good times and bad."
