FRND - Friend

Introducing enigmatic Los Angeles-based artist FRND (pronounced Friend). The moniker of a platinum-selling producer who in the past has worked with some of today most well-known acts, FRND is now stepping out on his own and has today unleashed his eponymous debut single titled "Friend", which also serves as the first track to be be lifted from his forthcoming debut EP, due out later this year via Evan Bogart's new label, Crooked Paintings (STALGIA, Annabel Jones and Otis English). A former Sousaphone enthusiast, FRND makes music that connects with people. With his "love each other" but "go f*** yourself" range of emotional themes and minimalist production, his songs are both real and relatable.

Speaking on the track, FRND says:

"I wrote 'friend' about making the awkward yet necessary decision to cut someone out of your life for your own well-being. I wanted the music to sound upbeat and pleasant while having the concept be more sarcastic and melancholy. In this case, I asked my friend to 'wingman' me in a situation with a woman and instead he proceeded to do the opposite. I pretty much wanted to make an anthem for 'breaking up' with a friend."
