Parekh & Singh - Philosophize

Ahead of the release of their forthcoming debut album, Ocean, due out on October 28th via UK indie label, Peacefrog Records (Little Dragon, Jose Gonzalez, Moodymann), Kolkata-based dream pop duo Parekh & Singh, comprised singer/songwriter Nischay Parekh and percussionist/producer Jivraj 'Jiver' Singh, have just recently shared their brand new single called "Philosophize". Written while the duo were living in India, "Philosophize" is a windswept tune about feeling out of place in ones' surroundings and longing for the west. The song has a mid-tempo rhythm, but builds up gradually, highlighting the emotional, lightweight vocals. The way that the instrumentals layer into each other conjures up images of pure magic. Parekh & Singh's debut album will also include the duo's two previously released singles, "Newbury Street" and "I Love You Baby, I Love You Doll".

Speaking on the track, Parekh & Singh says:

"'Philosophize' was one of the earliest songs I ever wrote. It's essentially about how I used to dream about life in the west and feeling a little out of place as a western musician in India. The lyric - 'New York state of mind in Indian standard time' really sums up my feelings at the time."
