New York City-based duo Slow Sugar, comprised of vocalist Danielle Harris and multi-instrumentalist/producer Alex Utay, have today unveiled their new single called "Shotgun", a fiery and impassioned alt-rock banger which see the pair take a slightly more aggressive approach from that of their previously released tracks "
Hypnotic Love" and "
Pieces", both of which quickly climbed the
Hype Machine charts and garnered a considerable amount of praise and support from a multitude of tastemaking music blogs.
Speaking on the track, Danielle says:
"
'Shotgun' is the first song Alex and I wrote together, and it’s also the song that has undergone the most transformations. When I heard it all finally come together, I had chills. It keys into the emotional flux of a turbulent relationship – the coldness of knowing better, the vulnerability of losing control, and the power of making that choice to indulge in it anyway."
