New Jersey native and former American Idol contestant (season 14) Jaclyn Cole Miskanic, aka JAX has just unveiled her new single called "Kickin' & Screamin'", which also serves as the second track following "Stars" to be lifted from her forthcomin six-track debut EP, Funny, due for release on January 27th.
After finishing third on American Idol and performing a sold out NYC headlining show, JAX was ready to launch her singing career when she was sidelined with a diagnosis of thyroid cancer. "It was very unexpected," JAX explained to My Central Jersey. "When you're 20 years old, you have this Superman entitlement mentality, like you're indestructible. And sometimes all it takes is God telling you it's time to take a break for you to understand that you are most certainly not." She has since had her thyroid removed, has completed radiation and is now back to great health and ready to return to her love - music.
JAX's forthcoming Funny EP features co-writers/producers Colin Louis Dieden (from The Mowgli's), Ruffian (Selena Gomez, Zedd), Larzz Principato (Halsey) and Nick Marsh (Chris Brown). "I loved being in the studio for this one," said JAX. We had just as much of a party as the song sounds. Colin Dieden is such an awesome friend and artist. It's always a blast recording with him and the crew out in LA."
