Having first came to our attention back in mid-2015 with their previous single, "House Of Cards", sister duo RUUMER, comprised of Melissa and Jessica Labbadia and formerly known as L2 (who you might remember from their Billboard Hot Dance/Club hits "Insomnia" and "Boys Or Girls"), now return today with their new single called "Heels". Co-written and produced by Rick Markowitz, aka SmarterChild (Melanie Martinez, Krewella, Niykee Heaton), "Heels" is an invigorating pop anthem that focuses on female empowerment by saying you can be a HBIC (Head Bitch In Charge) even in your stilletoes.
Speaking on the track, the sisters explain:
"We have always been feminists. Everything we do, everything we create, everything we write is rooted in empowering women. Now more than ever, we think it's a vital time to focus on equality in all forms. Heels are a stereotypical symbol of femininity, so we wanted to write the song about women doing badass things in their heels to throw a wrench in the stigma."
