Born in Rotorua, New Zealand but now currently residing in Brooklyn, New York, 23-year-old singer/songwriter Alayna Powley, better known mononymously as Alayna, has just unveiled her striking debut single called "Falling Autumn", a beautifully written and more modern-sounding R&B ballad which was brilliantly produced by Astronomyy.
"'Falling Autumn' is about finding the stillness and comfort in someone else," Alayna says. "It's about connecting with someone on a deeper level and being confident in what you want, crave and feel."
Growing up listening to the great lyricists, such as Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, "Falling Autumn" is not just another song about falling in love or breaking up, there are layers and nuances in her songcraft and if this debut is anything to go by, Alayna will definitely stand apart from your average lovesick diva.
Listen to "Falling Autumn " below.
"Falling Autumn" is out now via Hillydilly's new label, 20XX and available on iTunes.
Premiere via The Line of Best Fit.
