Tangina Stone - Anxious

Having first come to our out attention late last year with her previous single, "Ride Off", rising Brooklyn-based alt-soul/R&B songstress Tangina Stone now returns today with her first new offering of 2017 called "Anxious", which also serves as the second track to be taken from her forthcoming debut album, Elevate, due out in April. Produced by WOLFGVNG, mixed by Crystal Caines, and written by Stone herself, "Anxious" is a demonstration of the strength it takes to bare your lowest point while still standing tall. Inspired by the distress that caused Tangina to be hospitalized and put on a suicide watch, the longing to not just be heard, but to be understood, tugs at each verse.

Speaking on the track, Tangina says:

"'Anxious' is an excerpt from my life. It's an important part of my story and my journey addressing my own mental health and wellness. Black women are often told that our struggles with mental health are not real or valid. That we are just angry, bitter, and dramatic. Anxious was written to dispel the negative stigmas attached to mental health in the black community and to acknowledge the importance of getting help, when you need it. If I had no help, I would not be here. I hope that "Anxious" is a wakeup call to all have put their mental health on the back burner. Getting help does not make you weak."

Appropriately titled, the album with feature 13 tracks that speak on moments of tragedy, vulnerability, mental health and social crisis. With tactful homage to her musical influences (Lauryn Hill, Nelly Furtado, Erykah Badu and Stevie Nicks), Elevate combines lyrical mastery with addictive elements of soul, rock, electronic and R&B into an eclectic fusion of musical artistry.
