Malaika - Stop For A Minute

After having released her debut single, "I Don't Feel The Same" earlier this year, emerging Leeds-based singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Malaika Shaw, aka Malaika now returns with her second offering called "Stop For A Minute", a highly addictive and memorial jazz-influenced pop song which was produced and co-written by Grammy nominated songwriter John Beck and recent winner of BBC's Let It Shine, Curtis T Johns.

Malaika's saccharine vocals and jazz inspired melodies have already received support from Jamie Cullum at BBC Radio 2, Huw Stephens at BBC Radio 1 and BBC Introducing, as well as PRS Music Foundation and funding from The Arts Council, all of whom have all helped kickstart her burgeoning career. A journey which started last year after being handpicked by Jamie Cullum to perform at The Montreal International Jazz Festival which quickly led to other support slots for Mica Paris and X Factor Finalist Luke Friend.

Speaking on the track, Malaika says:

"'Stop For A Minute' is a very exciting song for me. I feel that I am getting closer to a sound that is true and unique to myself with this one."
