GIRLI - Hot Mess

London-based Gen-Z artist GIRLI has today unveiled the music video for her unapologetic and very pro-female pop anthem "Hot Mess", which also serves as the first single and title track off her upcoming EP, a four-track collection of punchy aggro-pop gems which is due out on September 26th. Directed by Vasilia Forbes, the video sees GIRLI taking on the patriarchal music industry while accompanied by her girl gang of pink haired skaters known as the Bowl Babes. Speaking about the video, GIRLI explains:

"This video is a day in the life of GIRLI with a twist, a skating squad of pink clones and a mob of pink fans being the twist. Allow me to introduce to you the patriarchy-smashing, pink punk girl skating Hot Mess crew. I started skating this year and have been so inspired by all the girls on the scene that I wanted to get some of my girl skate friends involved in the video. I also wanted to get fans involved in all their pink wacky weirdness. Always be yourself. Always be messy. I give you 'Hot Mess', the video."

GIRLI's tongue-in-cheek lyricism paired with future-facing production has caught global attention over the last 12 months. "Hot Mess" follows her previous offering "Feel Ok", a collaboration with grime legend Lethal Bizzle. After show-stopping supports for ALMA and Kate Nash, GIRLI will be bringing her unique brand of pink-fuelled chaos across the country with shows in Brighton, London, Leeds, Reading & Glasgow.
